» Unique Locations for Your Wedding

One of the biggest questions you’ll need to decide on for your wedding is where to have it. Choosing the location for your wedding can be quite a challenge sometimes. Many just don’t want to pick the typical catering hall or everyday place. They want somewhere that is a bit unusual or unique – just like them. That’s when you start to look at unique locations that aren’t always chosen for a wedding.

Historic landmarks top the list as favorite places that are unique for weddings. Some will say they are available and others are available but don’t advertise it – you have to ask someone about it. If you are passionate about history this can be an ideal choice. Look into some of your favorite locations. In some historic landmarks catering may be offered as they may do weddings often.

An aquarium is a very unique place to have a wedding. But in some ways watching those fish glide by in the water can be quite romantic. If you and the groom have a love of the ocean and related science this can be a lovely choice. Many aquariums are open for special events. You may need to be a member of the aquarium.

Your favorite restaurant is another excellent choice. The restaurant you had your first date or the place he proposed could be a great choice as the place to hold a wedding. Getting married in a pizza place is something unique and different – not everyone is going to do it. But you do want your wedding to express your personal style and originality.

A park is another great choice for your wedding. Some parks are available for public events and you’ll need to pay a fee to hold an event or just register your event. Check ahead of time. Many parks are simply beautiful so this choice is ideal for most seasons.

When it comes to wedding planning, choosing the wedding location is one of the most important aspects to consider. The time of year that the ceremony is planned will also play a large role in it’s location. For example, outdoor weddings are often held in the spring, summer and fall seasons. On the other hand, winter weddings would generally be held indoors if you live in an area that is prone to harsh weather.

Choosing the wedding location will entail the bride and groom sitting down and discussing their favorite place to hold the ceremony. For some, a romantic getaway wedding is the preference, while others prefer a hometown wedding with all of their family and friends. For others, a very intimate ceremony with only those closest to the bride and groom is just the ticket. Whatever the preference, communication is key in choosing the wedding location that is preferred by both the bride and groom.

Additionally, choosing the wedding location will largely depend on the wedding budget. A destination wedding, for instance, will be much more costly than a private ceremony at home. In addition to the travel involved, many couples find that popular wedding spots often charge much higher prices for common services simply because of their location. Hawaii, for instance, is a popular wedding and honeymoon spot. Couples who want an island ceremony, however, had better be ready to spend some big bucks on wedding packages, photographs and the honeymoon. For those who can afford it, a destination wedding is well worth the extra costs involved. For those who are on a budget, however, perhaps a hometown wedding and destination honeymoon are a better combination.

As a final thought to choosing the wedding location of your dreams, take a moment to consider how you will want to remember your special day later on in life. Avoid an untraditional approach if you are more of a traditionalist, especially if you are just looking for a way to make your wedding unique. No matter where you are, your wedding is unique because both you and your fiancé are one of a kind. While choosing the wedding location is a critical part of the planning process, the most important thing is that the perfect location will be that in which you and your fiancé are both present and wish to express your promise to love one another forever. When choosing the wedding location, just make sure that it’s one close to your heart and maybe even your home.
