With the help of the world wide web, every bride can shop from a world of designer wedding dresses. The trouble for many, however, is finding a way to afford them. Today, it is no longer necessary that a woman be confined to only the choices offered by her local bridal boutique. Why? Because designers and boutiques around the nation offer websites and shipping options to help every bride-to-be find the designer wedding dresses of her dreams without stepping one foot into the store.

As mentioned previously, the affordability factor is of great concern to many brides as they shop for designer wedding dresses. In an effort to make the shopping experience a little simpler, many designers and boutiques offer a convenient layaway plan. This is common in the retail world, where layaway is largely publicized, but not every woman realizes that many bridal stores are willing to offer the same courtesy.

In order to stay competitive, many online bridal boutiques allow their customers to place a reasonable deposit to hold their designer wedding gown, which is then followed by regular monthly payments until the designer wedding gown is paid in full. This new approach to purchasing designer wedding dresses not only makes it more convenient to pay a little at a time, but also opens a new door to more expensive wedding dresses that may otherwise be unaffordable to many.

The only drawback to ordering online instead of purchasing locally is the inability to try the dress on and see if it fits. Designer wedding dresses may vary in size from one designer to the next and, just like with any other garment, it is often helpful to be able to try the item on and make sure the fit is comfortable. When ordering online or via an out-of-state bridal boutique, always make sure to ask about their exchange policy incase the gown does not fit. Most will accommodate exchanges, but are not so keen on a refund. Providing that the tags are in tact and the gown features no stains or alterations, most designer wedding dresses can be exchanged for another size.

When ordering designer wedding dresses, or any other kind of wedding attire, it is important to have the correct measurements to include the bust, waist and hip. Once compared with the designer’s size charts, the bride will know exactly which size to order. Additionally, she can ask the designer or retailer if the gown runs true to size, is made a little smaller or more generous than most. This information will be very valuable in determining the correct size.
