Theme parties are fun and unlike any other celebration. They allow an area to be transformed into a whole new world depending entirely upon the decorations. Tropical theme parties may include hula dancers, beach wear, lighted palm tree decorations, tropical dinnerware, sea food and coconut glasses.

This type of celebration is perfect for anyone who loves the ocean, dreams of visiting an island or is planning a wedding or honeymoon at a beach resort. If glamour is your preference, consider hosting a red carpet affair. With the styling of Hollywood, welcome your guests using a royal red carpet, fancy attire and fine dining.

This type of theme party will not come cheap, but will certainly be memorable. For the sports nut, consider hosting a theme party honoring their favorite team, sport or affiliation. Perhaps the male guests dress as athletes and the females dress as athletes or cheerleaders. The menu will be a breeze with a selection of common sports foods, such as hot dogs, BBQs, potato chips, sodas, etc. Pet lovers will enjoy a pet theme party.

Invite guests to bring their favorite pet for a time of celebration and fun. The menu will have to accommodate the two-legged, as well as the four-legged so be sure to have a selection of pet food for your furry friends. Make sure to ask everyone to keep their pets restrained and under control in order to avoid a potential conflict with other pets.

This will ensure that everyone has a safe, and enjoyable, time. Movie fans will enjoy celebrity look-alike theme parties complete with costumes, masks and the works. This is a fun idea because it gives everyone the chance to explore their creativity and showcase their favorite celebrity. Who knows - maybe a friend already looks like a famous movie star, so they won’t have to buy a costume. Give your guests a way to put some fun back into being a celebrity and enjoy the night in style.

There’s never a bad time for a holiday theme party. During any time of the year, there’s almost always a holiday approaching, so plan accordingly. If it’s Valentine’s Day, the theme could be love and romance. The 4th of July could honor independence and can serve as a patriotic celebration.

A Halloween theme party would accommodate all sorts of costumes, so this would be a fun approach. A Thanksgiving or Christmas theme party are ideal for the fall and winter celebrations. There is no better time to celebrate than either of these times of the year.

A New Year’s theme party is also very popular and can be enjoyed by everyone as a new start when anything is possible. This is especially symbolic for weddings, which is the beginning of a new adventure and life together. Theme parties should be planned over a period of months, but not weeks.

There is simply too many details to coordinate and cannot be done within in a matter of weeks. Begin planning theme parties several months before the scheduled event. Party supply stores, costume designers and shops, along with craft supply online and retail stores are all terrific places to find decorations and theme supplies
