					  <title>Wedding Singers &#38; Music</title>
					  <link>http://www.weddingpartyhelp.com/Articles/articles/31/1/Wedding-Singers--Music.html</link>
<description>Music is an important part of a wedding, but what would it be without singers? Beautiful voices, touching words and meaningful ballads are all a part of what makes music great. Many people choose to have live tunes at their reception and selecting a wedding singer is a large part of that process. Selection of a singer can be a fun, but demanding, task. There will first be the selection of musical type that the bride and groom wish to have performed at their reception. For example, if both are fans of country music, there is no reason to interview a rock 'n roll singer or pop performer. Once the style is narrowed down, the happy couple can begin searching the telephone directory's yellow pages, the internet and asking for referrals from friends. Almost everyone knows someone who has the voice of a superstar, but are they willing to perform in public? This is an important factor to determine when selecting singers because, if they suffer from stage fright, you don't want them to cave under the pressure of having to perform in front of an audience. The final selection will likely feature someone with energy, confidence and who has a powerful voice. If you are still at a loss, place an ad in the local newspaper and mention that you are searching for a wedding singer. If you have trouble finding the right singer, let them find you. There are singers for all types of music, including country, jazz, rock &#38; pop, blues and any other style that you can imagine. The question is, how can you select the right one for your special day? The bride and groom should interview possible singers and make a live recording of each audition. This works if the singer is local, but what if they are in another state? If that's the case, simply ask for an audition tape. If the performer happens to be a well-known recording artist, contact his/her agent or booking representative to inquire about scheduling. Many couples hire big name singers, but it doesn't come cheap. Anyone interested in scheduling a live concert with such a performer can expect to shell out thousands but, for those with unlimited resources, it makes for a very memorable event. Anytime that singers are scheduled for a wedding, or other event, a written agreement must be formed between all parties involved. In order to reserve a date, the soon-to-be newlyweds will likely have to pay a deposit toward the total cost of the performance. This payment, along with the total cost involved, must be clearly outlined in the agreement. In addition, cancellation policies and timelines, the number of songs performed and amount of time spent at the reception must all be included in the contract. Once all parties agree to the terms, each must sign and date the contract. It's a good idea to keep a copy of the contract tucked away in a drawer, or other safe place, for future reference and to aid in any disputes that may later arise regarding the services.&#160; Article by Cynthia - Wedding Party Help This Wedding Article can be reprinted in whole.
